Cambrian College's annual Athletics Banquet celebrated the college's top athletes, showcasing their achievements in various sports. The event highlighted the college's commitment to recognizing and rewarding athletic excellence. This year, the spotlight shone on the volleyball players, with Carlie Pappano and Sam George taking home the top honors. Pappano, a standout performer, was named Female Athlete of the Year and co-MVP of the volleyball team, also earning OCAA and CCAA accolades. George, her teammate, was named Male Athlete of the Year and co-MVP of the silver-medallist men's volleyball team, further solidifying the team's success. The banquet also recognized individual achievements in other sports, with awards for badminton, cross-country running, soccer, and more. The Dynamic Therapy Perseverance Award, presented to Abby Laporte, honored an athlete's resilience and academic success. The event concluded with the presentation of several scholarships, including the SWSE Scholarship, Sudbury Masters Running Club Bursary, New Sudbury Masters Running Club Scholarship, Peter Guy Memorial Bursary, and Vern Dow Memorial Bursary, further demonstrating the college's commitment to supporting its athletes' academic and athletic pursuits.
